SYNOPSIS

Insanely Wicked is a poignant short film confronting the realities of domestic abuse and its devastating impact on individuals and families.

Told through the shifting perspectives of a couple, the story at first appears to portray a loving relationship — filled with memories of music, romance, and devotion. As the narrative unfolds, the truth is revealed: beneath the façade of affection lie control, fear, and violence.

The film follows Jane, a woman trapped in a cycle of emotional and physical abuse, and John, her partner, whose possessiveness turns deadly. Through flashbacks and fractured memories, it exposes the psychological complexity of abusive relationships and the tragic consequences of silence — and urges viewers to recognise the warning signs, from manipulation and isolation to coercive control, and to seek help.

THE CAUSE

Domestic abuse awareness — coercive control, emotional and physical abuse. The film helps audiences recognise the warning signs of an abusive relationship and encourages open, empathetic conversation about seeking support.
